You find out that your significant other is an eldritch horror, that has ultimately been trying to steal your soul by getting you to trust it. However, as it got to know you, it began to bond with you, and no longer wants to steal your soul. How do you react? Do you proceed with the relationship, or leave the creature?

Anyways I'm really sorry if I bothered you or whatever I just had to tell someone and I have nobody to tell because we'll I've explained enough nobody cares but thank you

I have found that the path of Void magic can be very lonely and isolated at times. I suffered similar bouts as you described through your previous messages, and can say that it can be hard to maintain a positive attitude. Understand, though, that despite whatever misgivings you may have on the matter, your presence does serve a greater purpose. The Void can both create and destroy, and both are necessary as part of the function of the world.

I hope I'm not bothering you but also, I apologize for the Anon. Many people that I've asked about this have either told me that I'm stupid or simply that what I'm seeking doesn't exist. I'm confused by the idea of my element being Aether rather than Void because my friend who has the Spirit (Aether) element and is the complete opposite of myself with magic and energy use. She is bright lights, energy and healing while I am the complete opposite.

I would render that down to a conflict of lexicons at that point. Also, Void is absence, therefor when using it, it tends to “not” rather than coming with the flash and dazzle of standard elements.

Me again! When I did an element test with someone trained in energy work, we were asked to work with the elements fire, earth, water, air, spirit, and void. When asked to use void, we were to "hold it" in our hands and use it, I was able to draw others energies into myself. With a physical touch or even just by looking at someone and using my element, I can drain their energy. Kinda sounds sketchy. But, that's why I believe the void could be an element. Do you have a master post for void magic?

It’s been a while since I used Tumblr, and it would appear they have snagged away the links somehow (or at least put them somewhere different). This is my master post on the matter of Void magic, and it has a number of links throughout it that can lead to helpful other posts I have made on the subject.

Using the Void, one can certainly drain other things, be they living or not, animate or otherwise inert. I have done so inadvertently while hungry and ruined an otherwise perfectly good fork just by touching it. It’s a matter of one’s nature to use it like that, but the elemental aspects of it are more like those seen in Aether (which should have a link in my master post).

I see your blog is literally void based.... please tell me you know anything about the ELEMENT Void. My element, is Void. I use it in energy work and whenever my element comes into play. No one has been able to tell me anything about it and usually tell me it doesn't exist as an element... I'm sorry if this seems aggressive but you're my only hope 😅

I am not really certain that I could call the Void an element. One might look at it more as a meta-element, if looking at any particular elemental system. From the Void comes the chaotic stuff of creation, which is used to form everything, and from the Light is called the pattern which serves as the template by which the thing is created.

As one who practices Void magic, I have found that as a stand-alone source of power and inspiration, the Void is very good at occultation, obfuscation, nullification, creation, and destruction, just as a note to the basics.

If you are working with an elemental aspect to it, I call that Aether (which is that chaotic stuff of creation I mentioned earlier). I have found that its properties can be used to sustain things, wear them down, or mend them (again, just sticking with basics). It can also be shaped into anything you need it to be for whatever purpose, and it can be a temporary or somewhat less temporary shaping, dependent on what the goals are.

I make a distinction between Aether and Void for the sake of having a lexicon that makes some amount of sense (despite the fact that the Void really makes less sense the more one explores it). If you are looking for more specific answers, I would happy to field further questions.

Strength in Diversity

The Void holds no grudge against something for being what it is. Everything has its part to play and has some unique function which makes it useful in the grand scheme.

Being in support of a global community that recognizes no borders and works for the greater good of all, I have repeated myself regularly in that we need to come together and accept our differences. I do this because I see diversity as a strength. Differences in opinion are the life blood of progress. Without others questioning our methods and using critical thinking, we can miss important steps, key factors or influences, and possibly lose sight of the moral implications. Without a variety of skill sets and capabilities available through multiple specialists, we have more difficulty in taking on complex or large tasks. Without the development of different points of view, we become narrow-minded and hyper-focused.

In this day and age, we have the very real threat posed by climate change. Epidemics run rampant and lack the proper funding, manpower, and research to combat. Economies are collapsing or are under the threat of collapse, while trade agreements and old alliances break down. Civil unrest and war are becoming increasingly prominent. We stand on the precipice of change and are presented with a choice: Do we hold to our rigid ideals, uphold our borders and boundaries, steel ourselves against the enemy, and prepare to fight? Or do we learn to embrace our differences, build bridges and dissolve our borders, open ourselves to discussion and discourse with others, and prepare to unite? Either way, we face a great change, and it can be felt rippling all across the world with ever greater frequency.

As a representative of the Void, I advise we learn to come together. Each of us has something unique to offer the world. We need to embrace our individual talents, and embrace the talents of others. We need to encourage others to follow their own paths to develop themselves and help them to find their own way. We need to focus on bringing together our various skills to work on the problems of today to prevent the disasters of tomorrow. We need to help educate every individual to help them better understand the world and where their unique talents can be applied. We need to include everybody. We must come together as one, for there is strength in diversity.

To Understand

Okay, spellcrafting side of Tumblr, I have a project on my hands and I need some ingredients.

I want to know what sort of herbs and plants promote understanding, sensitivity, empathy, patience, and compassion.

Furthermore, what stones will promote those same qualities?

What colors are traditionally associated with these qualities?

What advice would one give for sigil crafting toward these ideals?

Beyond that, what might one include to provide an incentive toward working together and communal growth on a large scale?
